| 内容記述 | Since the 2000s, with China's rapid urban development and economic growth, its previously neglected modern historical heritage has begun to attract attention. Chongqing, as the provisional capital during the Second Sino-Japanese War, preserves numerous modern historical sites relevant to that period. Entering the 21st century, the city has undergone a large-scale urban redevelopment, which raised awareness towards the preservation and utilization of those modern historical heritage. Using Chongqing as the focus, this study examines the Chinese central government and the Chongqing authorities' preservation policies, analyzes modern historical heritage surrounding the city center, and explores how these heritage sites can be utilized during redevelopment. Furthermore, through detailed analysis on heritage sites where preservation and utilization efforts have been implemented, this study identifies their key characteristics and provides suggestions for future improvements. In China, the preservation of cultural heritage is predominantly led by the local government, with responsibility to ensure these sites are under proper supervision and management. However, in terms of the utilization of modern historical heritage, promoting diverse reuse becomes critically important due to these sites' individually unique geographical characteristics and historical values. The ultimate goal via such an approach is to seek balance between preservation and utilization, and to strengthen the public's awareness on this subject. | |||||
