| 内容記述 | ITO Togai (1670‒1736), the eldest son of ITO Jinsai (1627‒1705), devoted himself to the dissemination of his family's scholarly traditions, particularly those established by Jinsai. While it is widely recognized that Togai excelled in historical studies, existing research on this subject has, to the best of my knowledge, yet to provide a detailed analysis of his contributions to historiography. Moreover, studies on Togai himself remain remarkably scarce. Although substantial scholarly work has been conducted on Edo-period historiography, much of this research has focused on figures such as the Hayashi family or ARAI Hakuseki, with limited attention paid to the historical studies of the Kogido school. This lack of focus suggests that the historiographical contributions of Kogido have not been adequately explored. The structure of this paper is as follows: First, it examines the historical background surrounding the formation of Kogido historiography. Next, it explores the relationships between the Kogido school during its formative period and figures such as court nobles, the Hori family, and members of the NABA Katsusho school, while providing an overview of Togai's historical research during this time. Following this, the paper delves into the development of Togai's historiography after Jinsai's passing. Finally, it reflects on the broader significance and positioning of Togai's historiographical contributions. | |||||
