| 内容記述 | The Tongshi Gushi (Jap. Sin. I. 58a) in the Jesuit Roman Archives (Archivum Romanum Societatis Iesu or ARSI) relates to the missionary Michele Ruggeri's (1543‒1607) study of the Chinese language. In the Tongsu Gushii, similar stories can be found in both Chinese and Western sources, but they do not completely coincide. In particular, regarding the Chinese sources, the vocabulary and style of the Tongsu Gushi are characterized by a colloquial tone rather than a formal written style. One of the stories in the Tongsu Gushi, the Zhu Maichen story, is based on a prototype that can be found in Chinese sources, with variations. A comparison of the two stories reveals both differences and similarities, highlighting the inherited aspects of the Chinese-origin story as well as the unique elements that may have been added during the process of the Western missionaries' learning of Chinese. | |||||
