| 内容記述 | Standard German is not a single variety but a set of varieties that vary from country to country. The importance of language descriptions that respect national standard varieties, which are closely related to the identity of each country, began to be recognized, and the ABCD thesis was published (Austria: A, BRD: B, Schweiz: C(H), DDR: D). The ABCD thesis stated that the diversity of national varieties of German is an essential bridge between language learning and area studies(Landeskunde) and that learners should be able to learn about its diversity through appropriate teaching materials. With the unification of East and West Germany in 1990, the ABCD thesis developed into DACH(L) (D: Deutschland, A: Austria, CH: Confoederatio Helvetica, L: Liechtenstein). Although the DACH principle is based on recognizing the diversity of German and teaching each of its varieties, insufficient consideration has been given to how this diversity should or can be reflected in practice in the classroom. This paper examines how to address the diversity of the German language and discusses the implications of considering the DACH in DaF in Japan. | |||||
