| 内容記述 | This study investigates how people would respond to the Nankai Trough Earthquake Information (Extra), an uncertain earthquake forecast which is to be issued when the probability of an large earthquake along the Nankai trough is assessed to be relatively higher than normal. An internet survey was conducted to examine the people's perception of the earthquake occurrence probability and disaster prevention actions for the information. The results indicate that the perceived probability is much higher than the seismological estimates of 6.8％; more than 70％ of the people recognize that the probability is higher than 50％．It is also found that 10 to 20％ people take unfavorable disaster mitigation actions, which could induce serious societal disruptions such as mass advance evacuation and/or hoarding. | |||||||||
