| 内容記述 | The “JinHua Master” occupies a crucial role in the shamanistic practices of the Han people in Northeast China. My field research in the Shenyang area included interactions with local believers who emphasized the importance of the “JinHua Master.” Despite its significance, scholarly literature on the “JinHua Master” is relatively scarce. This paper argues that a detailed examination of the “JinHua Master” could substantially advance the study of Han shamanism. It is structured into four main sections. The first section provides an overview of the “JinHua Master,” including their background and significance. The second section explores the legends surrounding the “JinHua Master,” examining their status and impact on folk beliefs. The third section investigates the interactions between the “JinHua Master” and the shamanic ritual of spirit dancing, highlighting their reciprocal influences. The final section contrasts the shamanistic beliefs of the Manchu and Han ethnic groups, analyzing both the differences and connections in their religious practices. | |||||||||
