| 内容記述 | ARAI Hakuseki (1657-1725), who served under Tokugawa Ienobu, was an influential politician known for driving the Shōtoku reforms. A politician as well as a Confucian scholar, Hakuseki’s academic work spanned a wide range of fields, including history and linguistics, resulting in numerous significant contributions. While there is extensive research on Hakuseki, primarily focusing on linguistics, history, politics, and Western studies, his Confucian ritual studies have received comparatively less attention. These aspects of his scholarship are occasionally mentioned but remain underexplored and somewhat unclear. Therefore, this paper aims to focus on Confucian ritual studies by examining ARAI Hakuseki’s works, including “Hakuseki Sensei Gakukun”, “Kishinnronn”, his admonitions, and “Da Ming Ji Li,” to explore his profound thoughts on ritual studies. | |||||
