| 内容記述 | In this paper, I will analyze the handwritten Japanese translation for Manchu in the Man-Meng-Han Sanwen Hebi Jiaokeshu (満蒙漢三文合璧教科書), held in the Osaka University International Studies Library, and find out that it was translated by Shigetaro Watanabe (渡部薫太郎), who taught Manchu as a lecturer at Osaka Foreign Language School. Watanabe is an important person in the history of Manchu language studies in Japan, as he learned Manchu and taught it to the students at educational institution at a relatively early period from the Taisho to beginning of the Showa era. The Man-Meng-Han Sanwen Hebi Jiaokeshu of the Osaka University International Studies library’s collection, which contains his handwritten notes, is a valuable document because it allows us to get a glimpse of how he learned Manchu and taught it to the students. | |||||
