| 内容記述 | This paper discusses uses of the Japanese expression -masu youni, which is a form that expresses the speaker’s desire in the form of a prayer, and derives from one usage of the subordinate clause -youni. -Masu youni is used as a sentence final or it can occur in the form of a quote together with the particle to. It is never connected to any kind of modal or sentence-final particle. It can be used to express desire for a proposition that is concerned with the speaker, for a proposition that is concerned with the hearer, or for a proposition that is concerned with the third party. However, it is not suitable to express desire that involves discontent or worry. | |||||
