It is particularly important for small and medium-sized enterprises. However, many small and medium-sized enterprises have managed to survive for a long time by leveraging their unique strengths to gain a competitive advantage. Through a questionnaire survey, this study attempted to clarify what is necessary for a company to survive and develop over the long term. The questionnaire survey was conducted from the perspective of family business research, and surveys were conducted on the extent to which the founding family has an influence on management, the extent to which family precepts and management philosophies have been disseminated, what strategies the company has and whether it has inherited traditions, and what strengths and weaknesses it has as a result.
