| 内容記述 | The Pekin Mandarin Textbook (北京官話教科書) was compiled and published by Toa Dobun Shoin college, a Japanese institution of higher education in prewar Shanghai, and was used in the college’s Chinese language education. The textbook was published in 1910. In 1916, Toa Dobun Shoin published the first edition of Huayu Cuibian (華語萃編) , a collection of Chinese textbooks for the first grade of Toa Dobun Shoin. This work was “compiled as a textbook for the first grade of Toa Dobun Shoin of Pekin Mandarin Languages” and was used for many years thereafter. It is believed that the Pekin Mandarin Textbook was the basis of the Huayu Cuibian, which used the first volume of the Pekin Mandarin Textbook as its source material. It then presents a rudimentary discussion of the characteristics of Pekin Mandarin as learned from this textbook by students of Toa Dobun Shoin. An overview of the lexical features of this textbook shows that it corresponds to six of the seven characteristics of Pekin Mandarin, as described by Ota (1969). Many other words characteristic of Pekin Mandarin or Northern dialects can also be found in this Textbook. | |||||
