| 内容記述 | The Tenryuji temple (天龍寺) was supported by the Kōgon ex-emperor (光厳上皇), Ashikaga Takauji (足利尊氏), and Tadayoshi (直義). and it was founded according to Musō Soseki’s (夢窓疎石) suggestion. When Buddhist services were held to commemorate the construction of the Tenryuji temple (天龍寺), criticism was heard from exoteric and esoteric 顕密 Buddhists, including The Buddhist monks of Enryakuji Temple (延暦寺). The Imperial Court and the Ashikaga (足利) Shogunate racked their brains to respond to this protest. In this paper, I describe the complex political situation of this time. Musō Soseki (夢窓疎石) spread the instruction of Zen Buddhism to Imperial Court society after this. | |||||
