| 内容記述 | 本稿は琉球王国（1372-1879）の首里城下町とベトナム阮朝（1802-1945）の首都フエの比較歴史地誌である。首里とフエは面積も人口もよく似た規模で，いくつかの類似点が指摘できる。いずれも，王族の本拠地と宮城が一体化した政治中心地として設計された。フエ城塞の外郭部は，首里城の士族居住区と同じ機能を持っている。どちらも周囲の川や山を関連づけた風水思想もとで設計された。首里は，城内のみならず，その外港となった那覇とセットで刻下の海外交易機能を分担した。フエの場合は，フォン川沿いの貴族居住区，市場，港，商業地区，中国人地区を含む。より広いスケールでは，首里城下町が士族のための絶対的な政治・宗教的都市として設計されたが，フエ宮廷のエリート集団は，より開放的な城外の広い空間に住んでいたという違いが指摘できる。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | Back in the Ryukyu Kingdom in Japan, Shuri Castle Town obtained advantageous conditions to be the political center of the Ryukyu Kingdom, Meanwhile, Hue was the central political administration of the Nguyen Kingdom in Vietnam, from 1802 to 1945. Located far from each other, there were few pieces of evidence proved for the relationship between the Ryukyu Kingdom and the Nguyen Kingdom in their heyday times, however, it is realized that Shuri and Hue, with identical scale in area and population, shared some similar features. This paper was conducted to make some comparisons of urban structure, and feng shui application between Shuri-Naha and Hue and delineate their similarities and differences. Both the Shuri Castle Town and Hue Citadel City were designed as the closured political centers where it was home to the royal families and settled head governmental offices for the imperial courts. The outer citadel in Hue Citadel City was quite the same in function with settlement quarters of aristocrats in the outside region of Shuri Castle. Both are believed to be built under the feng-shui connection with surrounding rivers and mountains. The urban composites of Shuri and Hue were all situated not just within the defined boundary of the citadel/castle town, but on a broader scale, from the castle town to the seashore (the case of Shuri) or along the Huong River (the case of Hue), including the political center, aristocrats’ residential quarters, markets, ports, commercial quarters, and the Chinese quarter. On a broader scale, it is also recognized that while the Shuri Castle Town was designed as an absolute political and religious town for aristocrats, the elite group of the Hue court lived in opener and broader spaces in Hue. | |||||||||
