| 内容記述 | 本稿の目的は，野間論文(1978)のフィールドである鹿児島県沖永良部島と甑島の45年後を，ユリを中心に論じることであった。沖永良部島におけるテッポウユリ球根生産のピークは，1973年頃であった。1982年頃より切花の出荷が始まる。そのピークは1998年であり，その後減産した。対策として，新品種「咲八姫」が開発された。この他，生産の多いサトウキビは，栽培から収穫まで委託組織があり，近年耕作地が急拡大している。甑島のカノコユリ球根輸出も，1960年代後半に最盛期を迎えるが，以後漸減，1984年には輸出がなくなり現在では国内出荷もとだえた。現在，甑島のシンボルとしてのカノコユリを残すために「段々畑百合の会」が活動を行っている。平坦で農地の広い沖永良部島と，平地に乏しい甑島とでは，生産力に隔たりがある。しかし，両島に共通するダイナミックな自然景観と一次産物，そして人々の優しさがカギとなって，観光による活性化が進むことを期待したい。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | This study aims to discuss the situations of Okinoerabu-jima and Koshiki-Shima Islands 45 years after discussions in Noma (1978), focusing mainly on the production of lilies. The production of the Easter lily bulbs in Okinoerabu-jima Island peaked around 1973, and the delivery of cut flowers began around 1982 and peaked in 1998. A new cultivar named “Sakuyahime” was developed to counter the production decline. Regarding the sugarcane, which marks a considerably large production in the area, its cropland has been rapidly expanding, owing to the commissioned organizations entrusted with its cultivation and harvesting. Although the export of Speciosum lily bulbs in Koshiki-Shima Island peaked in the late 1960s, it declined gradually and ceased in 1984; today, its domestic delivery has also ended. A group called Dandanbatake Yuri no Kai (Terraced Field Lily Association) is working to preserve the speciosum lily on Koshiki-Shima Island. The production potential differs between Okinoerabu-Jima Island, with extensively large flat land for cultivation, and Koshiki-Shima Island, without much flat land. However, both islands share a dynamic view of nature, the blessings of agriculture and fisheries products, and people’s hospitality. With these virtues, revitalization via tourism should be expected. | |||||||||
