| 内容記述 | This article focuses on the Jianghuai Mandarin and examines two points. First, whether the adjectival predicate sentences be used alone in the Jianghuai dialects’, incomplete sentences as well as ordinary dialects or not? Second, how “很” is used in the adjectival predicate sentences in the Jianghuai dialects? As a result, in the entire Jianghuai dialect area, there is a high occurrence of the adjectival predicate sentences used alone as well as standard Chinese (Mandarin), which cannot be completed. There is a way to put a degree adverb before the adjective or to put a “的” after the adjective, especially if a strong dialect adverb is placed in front of the adjective. It entails putting a “的” at the end of the sentence. In addition, the usage of “很”, which is not seen in the Shuyang dialect of the Jiangsu Province, is also observed. It is the “很” before the noun, represents a large quantity. | |||||||||
