| 内容記述 | As part of the conservation and restoration work conducted under the aegis of Center for the Global Study of Cultural Heritage and Culture, this study estimates the quality of stonework blocks at Barbar Temple and Al-Khamis Mosque in Bahrain. The Barbar Temple was built around 2000 B.C. at Barbar village in Bahrain. It is constructed of stonework blocks. Al-Khamis Mosque was built around 800 A.D. in Bahrain. It is the oldest mosque in Bahrain. The condition and quality of these stonework blocks were studied. This paper reports the results of quality tests conducted on the stonework blocks in Bahrain and of comparing test for 3 methods in Barbar Temple. The quality tests include measuring the frequency of the accelerating wave generated by hitting the rock surface with an impact hammer. And 2 different types of test methods, Equotip and Rock Schmitt hammer, were added in this research. This work demonstrated that the quality of stonework blocks at the Barbar Temple and Al-Khamis Mosque in Bahrain was noted to be average. And the quality test methods were found to be effective for the stonework block. But unfortunately it was difficult to clarify the correlation among 3 quality test methods. | |||||||||
