| 内容記述 | This paper discusses the preservation environment of the burial chamber, Mastaba Idout in Saqqara. The examination of ancient mural paintings in the Lascaux Cave, France , and the Altamira Cave, Spain, as well as paintings on the walls and the ceiling of the burial chamber, such as Takamatsuduka-kofun, Japanese ancient tombs, reveals various preservation methods of mural paintings. Cave murals, many of which are seen overseas, also exist in Japan, including the Fugoppe Cave in Yoichi town and the Temiya Cave in Otaru City (Hokkaido). Both of these caves are preserved and maintained as Historic Site s with preservation facilities, and open to, and widely used by, the public. The first principle in preserving ancient murals is that the impact of the outer air should be significantly mitigated by the interior environment of caves and the kofun unless the ground contains moisture and constantly provides a highly humid environment, which is not ideal for mural preservation. Mural supports that can absorb and desorb moisture create a stable, optimal environment. Second, it is important to arrange the murals so that they can be detached from the walls in the case of natural dis asters such as earthquakes. Materials capable of absorbing and desorbing moisture make ideal mural supports. The detached murals should be returned ultimately to the original place and preserved there as long as the condition of the original place makes this possible. The third principle is that the mother rock needs to be reinforced based on structural mechanics in a way that the reinforcement and restoration will not ruin the aesthetic quality of the site. | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | 本稿は、エジプト、サッカラにあるイドゥートのマスタバの地下墳墓における保存環境について論じたものである。その際、ラスコー洞窟（フランス）やアルタミラ洞窟（スペイン）に描かれた古代壁画、さらには高松塚古墳などのように石室の墜面や天井に描かれた壁画の保存事例から多様な方策を学び取ることができると思われる。この洞窟墜画には海外事例も数多いが、日本国内においてもフゴッペ洞窟（北海道・余市町）や手宮洵窟（小樽市）などの洞窟堅画が存在している。いずれの洞窟も国指定史跡として保存管理され、保存施設が設けられており、一般に広く公開活用されている。古代壁画保存の基本原則の第一は、洞窟や古墳内部の保存環境が外気の影響を大幅に緩和する自らの能力を持っていることである。ただし、地中が湿潤で連続的に湿気を供給するところでは壁画保存にとって好ましくない高湿度の環境を呈する。墜画の支持体が吸放湿性に優れている場合には、安定した良好な環境を形成する。第二の基本原則は、壁画は地震などの自然災害対策の一環として、壁画を取り外すことが可能な状態にしておくことである。この場合には、壁画の支持体には吸放湿性を有する素材を採択すれば理想的である。加えて、原位猶の環境にもよるが、剥ぎ取った壁画であっても最終的には元の位置に保存するのが本来のあり方である。第三は、母岩の構造力学的な強化が必要なことである。ただし、岩盤の強化や修理を施したことが原因で景観を損ねるようなことがあってはならない。 | |||||||||
