| 内容記述 | This paper discusses about the position of women regarding the succession of land in the tomb of Ni-kȜ-Ꜥnḫ. He was high officer in the fifth dynasty, and his tomb is located in Tehne (Akoris). In his tomb, he inscribed on the list of the east wall how his land and his position should be succeeded to his wife and twelve children. It is interesting to see a description about women's right in ancient Egypt. In this paper, I translate the list and considere what women can legally exercise within the family. Also, more four wills are used to consider about the female right. In ancient Egypt. women could possess their own land, and make testaments to show their own will. However in the case of Ni-kȜ-Ꜥnḫ's wife, she did not have the official or religious title itself. The title which she possessed was rḫt-nswt. This means "king's confidant," and women with this title are, interestingly, almost same as Hathor priestesses. This shows that women might have difficulties to gain the official or religious title itself in the society of the Old Kingdom. | |||||||||
