This paper focuses on one of these, Hori’s notes for translations of the Tang-dynasty poet Du Fu’s poems, demonstrating that Hori’s manuscript is in fact based on a Hans Bethge’s 1922 German translation of classical Chinese poetry, Pfirsichblüten aus China; it also points out editorial issues in the deciphering and transcription of Hori’s notes for publication in Hori Tatsuo zenshu, the 1980 Chikuma Shobo edition of Hori’s collected works.},
