@article{oai:kansai-u.repo.nii.ac.jp:00001950, author = {陶, 德民 and 藤田, 髙夫}, journal = {関西大学東西学術研究所紀要}, month = {Apr}, note = {With the completion of photographing the correspondences addressed to Naitō Konan (1866‒1934) preserved in the Naitō Collection at Kansai University Library, it became much easier for researchers to link and make sense of those correspondences included in the 14th volume of Naitō Konan Zenshū. The present paper attempts to show this new possibility by analyzing the two cases of Naitō's contacts with Ishihara Kanji (1889‒1949) and Luo Zhenyu (1866‒1940) respectively in the immediate aftermath of the founding of the Manchuguo in March 1932. Ishihara's military postcard dated August 13, 1932 sent from the Military Headquarter in Hōten (Shenyang) to Naitō in Kyoto expressed his apology for not being able to find the site of an historical battle field in Manchuria, which was a request of Naitō when he was first visited by Ishihara shortly after the latter's appointment to the Kwantung Army as its Strategy Staff in late 1928. The paper also verified the role of Inaba Iwakichi (1776‒1940) as a constant mediator since then between Naitō and Ishihara because of his special status as Naitō’s follower in the field of Manchurian studies on the one hand, and Ishihara's favorable teacher when he was studying at the Military Staff College in the mid-1910s on the other. Luo Zhenyu's letter to Naitō dated August 22, 1932 suggested using the confiscated assets of Zhang Zuolin and Zhang Xueliang to make photographic reproduction of the authentic records of the successive emperors of the Qing Dynasty and hoped that Naitō could help get approval from the War Minister. And from several succeeding contacts between Naitō and the Genrō Saionji Kinmochi as well as the Prime Minister Saitō Makoto, it was apparent that Naitō had tried very hard to help Luo in this regard not only because of their long-lasting friendship and shared interest, but also because of their respective need to struggle for capturing the leadership, which was Luo from the Prime Minister Zheng Xiaoxu in the Manchuguo concerning the traditional cultural preserving projects, whereas Naitō from Hattori Unokichi in Japan concerning the founding of the Nichi-Man Bunka kyōkai.}, pages = {39--56}, title = {内藤書簡研究の新しい展開可能性について : 満洲建国後の石原莞爾・羅振玉との協働を例に}, volume = {47}, year = {2014} }
