内容記述 | Baikasha was both a private school and a Chinese poetry society in Osaka during the Edo period. It was established in 1776 and lasted for 80 years until its collapse during the Ansei Era (1854-1859). Baikasha changed leaders three times during its activity. Furthermore Baikasha not only secured a firm place in Osaka's literary world but played an important role in nurturing talents and maintaining the development of literature in Osaka. Three generations of Shinozaki Family inherited Baikasha. The first proprietor was Shinozaki Santo (1737-1813). Next was Shinozaki Shochiku (1781-1851) and Shinozaki Chikuin. He died in 1858 but the age at the time of his death seems unknown. With the change of the leadership Baikasha also underwent some changes. In its introduction the paper explains the name of Baikasha and embarks on its dual role. After highlighting the biography of its original founder Shinozaki Santo, it is concluded that Baikasha's dual nature was very much determined by the learning experiences of Santo. Furthermore this essay explores the learning styles of its three proprietors and demonstrates Baikasha's characteristics over the different periods of time. Finally in its conclusion this essay explicates the important role of Baikasha in Osaka during the Edo Period. | |||||
