In his arguments on religion Hobbes takes God's laws, especially the laws of nature, as the origin of believer's obligation. The key point, supported by various verses of the Scriptures, is that the laws of nature command simple obedience to the civil sovereign. This remains unchanged through his various works. But his arguments for it are not quite the same.
