It is hypothesized that each of the two dimensions is divided into three sub-categories of buying attitudes. In order to confirm the internal structure of consumer attitudes measured by this scale, data collected from 1559 housewives were analyzed by the method of factor analysis. Six factors were extracted. They were interpreted as substance, economy, search, dependence, innovativeness and sensuousness. As the second-order factors of these primary factors, rationality and emotionality were obtained. The findings supported the hypothesis of components of the REC scale. The internal structure was investigated in each of 7 age-groups, 4 job-groups and 6 regional-groups of housewives. The typical structure composed of six factors described above was found in groups of housewives of thirties and domestic women.
