| 内容記述 | The Shandong peninsula has maintained a close relationship with Korea through maritime activities since ancient times. Even today, there are far more overseas branches of South Korean companies than of other countries' ones in this region. This paper argues the relationship between these two regions, sustained by maritime transportation under the late Qing rule. One of the significant clues to reveal the actual circumstances of this economic exchange is the document dated April 1885, kept by Li Hongzhang, the commissioner of northern ports. He documented the number of the Chinese sail that entered the port of Inchon in Korea during the whole year of 1884. Analysing this particular document, the paper will show as to how the economic exchange between the Shandong and Korean peninsulas was conducted in the late nineteenth century. | |||||
