| 内容記述 | 常に変化する相貌の変形の時間的空間的継起の中に保存されてある不変項が観察者にとって個体識別のための情報となる。そのような情報を図像の中に保存するために，戯画の方法は，対象の相貌の特徴を極度に誇張しようとする。作家は誇張すべき特徴を直観的に選択している。この特徴を量的に選択するひとつの方法として，相貌の種々のパラメータの母集団平均値からの対象個体の変位量を用いることができる。おそらくそれ以外にも，当面，量的に明確化できない特質があると思われる。相貌の知覚のための情報としての不変項を戯画化の際にどのように特定するのかが心理学上の問題点であり，かつ，それは一般に顔パタン認識の仕組みを探る手掛りとなるものでもあろう。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | Information for discriminating someone's face would be relied on some invariant factors preserved in the continuous saptio-temporal transformations within it. In caricaturing sitter's face, artists exaggerate some salient attributes in his face to settle those factors into shape. They intuitively select the attributes of the face for that purpose. One of the quantitative ways selecting the attributes as such is to detect extreme deviates of parameters of features from the averages of those in the universe of human faces as statistical norms. Moreover there would be some more attributes which could not be described quantitatively. Psychological problem for caricaturings are how to specify those invariants in the face, and the outcomes should give us good clues for clarifying mechanisms of recognizing faces. | |||||
