We define the first half of this period, from the beginning of the 1970s to the beginning of the 1980s, as \"the former term,\" and the latter half, from then until the present, as \"the latter term.\" We define humanization of work in the former term as \"the basic style of humanization of work,\" in which, in the working life of the common bluecollar worker, the work itself was transformed. Today, we find that it is becoming difficult to grasp humanization of work solely in terms of this basic style as it has been showing signs of new developments.
