As a result of this research, it became clear that the following five points have changed largely: 1) There has been change in the way of thinking about relationships between men and women. 2) There has been decline in social concern and social ambition. 3) Political concern and motivation for political participation have declined. 4) Affirmative opinions on the Self-Defense Forces have increased. 5) Difference in attitude and opinion of students among colleges have reducted. It is certain that the above five points have changed, but the basic values leading to such consciousness have not changed largely. Those values are the ICCE values (Individualism, Conformism, Conservatism, Epicureanism) which I found to be the main values of Japanese young people in 1987.
