This article reports the findings of the third experiment conducted in June 1999. This experiment had one control and two experimental groups. The control group, consisting of 15 students, drank water from a bottle labeled \"tap water.\" Each of the experimental groups, consisting of 15 and 14 students, drank water from bottles labeled by the names of two nationally-marketed brands of mineral water. However, the content of all three bottles was identical, consisting of tap water. Ten rating scales were used to judge the quality of the water. Water from the three bottles received similar ratings on most scales. However, there were differences in the total amount of water consumed. The amount consumed by the control group was significantly less than that of the two experimental groups which were statistically equal to each other.
