As for Locke, Lowde approved of his demonstration of the existence of a God, but criticized his founding virtue and vice on praise or blame, his assertion that there are no innate principles, and his thought on general maxims. Locke's counter argument against the first point is invalid. Edwards(anon.) almost wholly accepted Stillingfleet's and Edwards's arguments in their respective religious controversies with Locke, and completely neglected Locke's.
