The first part is a report of confirmatory analyses of five dimensions of tourist motivation. Factors obtained in several factor-analytical studies are re-analysed from the viewpoint of a five-dimensional structure of tourist motivation. In the second part, positive and negative travel experiences previously had by university freshmen are separetely content analyzed. Their experiences are categorized into five dimensions of travel experience, and into four elements of consumer experience.
