 note = {This study investigates how the people of the Sumitomo family and the managers they employed, who were considered to be prominent members of the Osaka business community from early modern times to modern times, accepted the arts of the private academy called Hakuen Shoin in Osaka. It focuses on the students from Hakuen Shoin, especially Sumitomo Nantei, who was the head of a branch of Sumitomo family, in addition to Nakagawa Gyoryo and Imakita Kosen, who supported Sumitomo's initiative to combine cultural activities and human resource development.
