内容記述 | In this paper, we discuss "Information Literacy" and what kind of curriculum is needed for teaching "Information Literacy". For this purpose, we compared three different curriculums for laboratory sessions from three different schools. One was for a junior college and the other two were for Kansai University's Department of Sociology and Department of Informatics. These curriculums are basically for first year students. We compared two resources; one is our curriculum itself and the other is the comments on our classes from the students. To compare our curriculums, we considered four aspects; the aims of each curriculum, user-interface of software, programming education, and operation of software. As a result, we realised the importance of 1) constructing the mental-model, not about computers alone, but about using computers through the user-interface of software, and 2) knowing the potentialities of using computers. To collect students' comments, we asked them to answer a questionnaire at the end of the course. In this paper, we discuss two parts of the questionnaire, one concerning questions about the subjects of each class by using 4 point scales and the other concerning the impressions of using computer by free writing. As a result, we conclude that 1) it is better for the user-interfaces of software packages to be consistent with each other in a curriculum rather than inconsistent, 2) in the curriculum of Information Literacy, we have to focus on, not "how to use computers and computer software" , but "what kind of role computers play in our activities", and 3) positive impressions about using computers facilitate acquiring Information Literacy. Finally, we consider that education in Information Literacy should focus on understanding what kinds of activities will be possible when we use computers. | |||||
