| 内容記述 | In this article, I discuss the politics of discourse on electoronic media and networks that currently abound in academic circles. Focusing on research on computer-mediated communication (CMC), I trace the discursive change that moved from technological determinism to socio-cultural media studies. Though recent CMC research has paved the way to analyzing communication in computer-mediated networks as not only a technological matter but also a socio-cultural phenomenon, its discourse formation seems to restrict us from analyzing newly emergent phenomena which occur through communication on electronic networks. I name such a discursive problem 'the aporia of alienation thinking'. Owing to their basis on something essential, traditional media and communication research, including CMC research, that relies heavily on 'alienation thinking' has failed to grasp the social construction processes which form and maintain power-ridden relationships. It is necessary for critical studies to escape from such a way of thinking and, instead of preserving something essential, focus on the articulation process of social construction. For this puropose, I focus on the conception of 'netizen' that is popular in discourse on the internet and criticize its ideological effect from the view point of 'interpellation of technology'. Through this theoretical examination, this article clarifies what is needed for critical studies on media and networks today. | |||||
