The accident at Shigaraki Kohgen Railway, which occurred on May 14th in 1991, was a fatal trains collision. The cause of this accident was breakdown of railway signaling equipment and employees violated regulations of operation handling. There were 723 passengers on board at the time of the crash. 42 passengers were killed, and 519 others were injured.
