| 内容記述 | This paper carries out the comparative statics in a two-sector general equilibrium model of Cournot oligopoly in the short-run and long-run equilibria. The production structure of the economy is allowed to exhibits non-homotheticity of the production functions. We provide a necessary and sufficient condition for welfare-improving competition policy of a small open economy. It will be shown that the industry must be initially sufficiently concentrated for the competition policy to be welfare-improving in the long-run equilibrium. This result disproves the general validity of the common excess entry theorem: a marginal reduction of the number of firms from the long-run free-entry level is always beneficial to the economy. | |||||
