| 内容記述 | The Kokuga Sosaku Kyokai （The Association for the Creation of New Japanese Style Painting）, a non-governmental organization of Japanese painters, was formed by graduates of the Kyoto Kaiga Senmongakko（ Kyoto City Professional School of Painting）, Tsuchida Bakusen （1887-1936）, Murakami Kagaku （1888-1939）, Sakakibara Shiho （1887-1971）, Ono Chikkyo （1889-1979）, and Nonagase Banhana （1889-1964）. Established in January 1918, the first exhibition of their art was held in November of the same year at the Shirokiya clothing store in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. Exhibitions were held intermittently thereafter, seven times altogether until 1928 in both Tokyo and Kyoto. The Kokuga Sosaku Kyokai is highly regarded as playing an important role in the revitalization and modernization of Japanese painting during the Taisho period （1912-1925）. This paper discusses the way in which Tsuchida Bakusen played a central role in the Kokuga Sosaku Kyokai, and also looks at the philosophy and artistic expression of the artwork displayed in the early exhibitions. |
