| 内容記述 | During the late Qing dynasty, enlightened intellectuals in China advocated Western learning, using Japan as an intermediary. In this context, studying in Japan and the translation of Japanese books became increasingly popular. Open minded scholars within China at this time started magazines and built schools in order to pave the way for the advancement of society. This paper first reviews the context and background of the Japanese to Chinese translation boom arising in the late Qing dynasty. Secondly, taking Shen Hong as a case study, I shall look at the general features of the translation of Japanese educational works during this period, in order to further reveal the unique characteristics of this cross-cultural event in Sino-Japanese history. | |||||
