| 内容記述 | In the early period of cultural exchange of the Eastern and Western， the protestant Missionaries in China played a very important role. There is no doubt that, many of them had a solid foundation of Sinology. Wilhelm Lobscheid，who came from Germany， was one of these Missionaries， and made a great contribution to Chinese, Asian people and English‒speaking people. As for his great achievements of compilation of English‒Chinese Dictionary, it is so regrettable that he has never got the evaluation， and until now he has been hardly mentioned in the Dictionary’s history. This research note is drawn up on the basis of predecessors, with not only Chinese and Japanese, but also English and German reference materials of history. The purpose of this note is to show his whole life, his works and writings to the people，in order to give him a fair appreciation which he should have. | |||||
