| 内容記述 | Yamazaki Ansai (1618-1682), a representative Confucian scholar in the Tokugawa Period, not only has a strong belief in Zhu Xi's philosophy but also creates original ideas to explain it, especially when he defines the concept of "mind" (心). As everyone knows, the concept of "Li" (理) used to be regarded as the most important part of Zhu Xi's philosophy. In Zhu Xi's opinion, all things on earth involve both "Li" and "Qi" (氣) at the same time, but the difference between "Li" and "Qi" must be obeyed absolutely. Therefore, from the view of Zhu Xi's theory of mind-nature, "mind" is the domination of the "body" (身), but "nature" (性) and "mind" is heterogeneous just because "nature" is classified as "Li", and "mind" is classified as "Qi". As for Ansai, he accepts Zhu xi's definitions basically, such as taking "mind" as the domination of the "body". But Ansai thinks that "mind" is not only a formation of "Li" and "Qi" but also has the same meaning as "illustrious virtue" (明德) and "consciousness"(知). In order to find out the reason for the difference between Yamazaki Ansai and Zhu Xi, this article tries to compare with their discussion on the concept of "mind" from the view of the theory of mind-nature and theory of Li-Qi. | |||||
