The 「拜客」 is about the interaction between the Jesuits and the Chinese literati, which means visiting and being visited. Instruction pour les visites de mandarins, it shows, deeply and correctly, most of the etiquette of how the Jesuits interacted with the Chinese, and it also presents the whole process of visiting. Such information are completely presented in this short article 〈看門的事〉. Although there are no tedious data in this part, it correctly records the social etiquette between the Jesuits and the Chinese literati. It is not only the Instruction pour les visites de mandarins, but also the works of Matteo Ricci (1552-1610) that refers to the etiquette of 「拜帖」.
