We find that among the 66 words, 39 words have different syntactic functions \nin Japanese and Chinese just as shown in the dictionaries. The most important reason is \nthat the ways of conversion from nouns to adjectives are different. In Chinese a noun can be converted to an adjective wihout any changes, while in Japanese a noun should be \nconverted to an adjective by adding“teki”. Also we find that among the 66words, 27 \nwords have the same syntactic functions in both Japanese and Chinese. The reason why \nthey are given different part of speeches in the two dictionaries is that the classification standards of the part of speech are different.
