| 内容記述 | Yoshida Hatsusaburo (1884-1955) was a bird's eye view map artist who produced over 1,600 artworks throughout 30 years from Taisho medium period (around 1920's) to Showa 20's period (around 1945's). By then, he was not the famous artist since he succeeded without joining in academic artists' societies. However, he became well-known as the “Hiroshige of Taisho” with his unique style of painting, and produced many bird's eyev view maps. His works include in varieties of views such as,railroad route maps, Mt. Fuji, religion sacred places, national parks, summer resorts, valleys, islets, cherry-blossoms, castles, exhibitions, Japanese-style hotels, downtowns, ships, industries, neighboring countries, disasters, Hiroshima, trips, countly sides, cities, and modern Japan. During the period which he produced so many bird's eye view maps, many of his works certainly derived from th ematerials including railroad or steamship route in the period which, by transportation, they were developed. Nevertheless, his works were hardly paid attention from the perspective of how his works were identified by the point of view from East Asia, especially from the relation to maritime transportation Therefore, in this paper, I would like to examine his works particularly concerning steam-shipping in mainly East Asia from the relation to steamship route at that time. |
