| 内容記述 | This paper focuses on a vertical oban triptych （大判三枚続), which assumes a peculiar composition called "wide screen style, "by Utagawa Kuniyoshi, an Ukiyo-e artist active during the late Edo period. The paper also draws into discussion works by later painters who were influenced by Utagawa's style. It has been pointed out that Utagawa's wide screen work characterized by the arrangement of "huge things" and "widening of the vision". Furthermore，the author argues that by representing the motion of things to guide the viewer's eyes，Utagawa expressed in one scene the flow of time and thus gave the viewer a sense of presence． | |||||
