In these years，Japan，Korea and China have huge volume of newly discovered wood slips in ancient times，and some scholars of wood slips expect to create a new research field of East Asian woodslipology. While the author agrees with such possibility，he points out some difficulties to deal with three countries wood slips under a single perspective. One of the most serious obstacles is the time gap between Chinese wood slips and Japanese-Korean wood slips.
