| 内容記述 | Huo Sang (霍桑)， the most famous detective character in modern times China, is a character of Cheng Xiaoqing (程小青)'s novels during a period which extends from the 1910's to the 1940’s. In the 1920's Huo Sang was called the Oriental Holms (東方福爾摩斯)， and scholars recognized him as a copy of Sherlock Holmes. Huo Sang was the symbol of modern times, he had a western knowledge and he criticized the Chinese society of those times. However the character of Huo Sang in the 1940's was very different from the same character in the 1920's. This paper aims to discuss what this difference is. In the 1940's Cheng Xiaoqing re-wrote his novels of Huo Sang, By comparing the new version with the original version, we can see how Huo Sang of the 1940's became a strong advocate of the reform of the justice system in China. | |||||
