| 内容記述 | At the beginning of 20th century, both commercial ports of Osaka and Kobe, based on the modern industrial production, were the most important costal habours in the Kansai region. The booming economy influenced by the World War I caused thus the population growth of urban areas and an immediate increase of skilled workers. The rice market in the Kansai region has been expanding due to the country's population growth and the improving living standards that have accompanied its rapid economic expansion. The rice problem was going to be very serious. In 1898, therefore, the Japanese Government started to promote rice production, which made Taiwanese rice increasingly important. This paper analyzes the process of the Taiwanese rice exports to the Kansai region during the Japanese period. | |||||
