| 内容記述 | Rempei Kondo (1848-1922) was the industrialist in Meiji, Taisho era, and is best known as the president of Nippon Yusen Kaisha of Japan for a long term. Sheng Xuanhuai (1844-1916) was one of the important statesmen in late Qing China, and is known for participating and establishing the China Steamship Merchants Bureau, China Telegraph Bureau, the Imperial Bank of China and the Han Zhiping Coal and iron plants and many other corporations. In the autumn of 1908, Sheng Xuanhuai got acquainted with Rempei Kondo when he made a visit to Japan. In the late spring of 1910, Sheng Xuanhuai regaled Rempei Kondo, the head of the Japanese industrial group, in his private residence when they paid a visit to China. This article interprets Sheng's offspring's collection and the four letters of Rempei Kondo addressed to Sheng Xuanhuai that were collected by Shanghai library, to outline the real trace of their relationship. | |||||
