| 内容記述 | April 1848 organized by the New York businessman, and the New York State license, a joint venture Pacific Mail Steamship Company (PMSS Co.) was established. The company in the United States government permission, not only in the Strait of Barnabas and transportation between California, will also opened to the United States east of California agricultural products transportation services. 1849 started off in California's gold rush greatly promoted the development of San Francisco. In addition, PMSS is also very interested in Asia, in the open gateway to Asia soon, immediately opened by the Japanese port of Yokohama to Hong Kong route, that set sail from San Francisco, arrived in Shanghai via the Japanese route also gave up. Therefore, PMSS steamer of Shanghai to the United States as a tool path and therefore the New World to start.
