| 内容記述 | In 1815, the 20th year of the Qing Dynasty’s Jiaqing era and the 12th year of the Bunka era in Japan, a group of Vietnamese castaways landed on Yakushima Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. Not understanding Japanese, they were sent to Nagasaki, where a crewmember on a Chinese trading ship, who understood Vietnamese, was able to translate. With this, it was clear that the fi ve men were Vietnamese soldiers. After this discovery, the intention was to repatriate the fi ve men by sending them to Zhapu, China, on a Chinese trading vessel. This report explores the conditions surrounding this decision. | |||||
