The database was compiled by referring to Sakanaka's (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) database on the person-centered approach and by searching for related articles on the internet. One hunded forty-three articles were published during this period in Japan or outside Japan by Japanese researchers. Forty-two articles (29.4%) were theoretical papers or papers on practice. In contrast, no experimental papers were found for this period. Eighty-eight (61.5%) of these articles were published in university bulletins, and thirty-nine (27.3%) were published in academic journals. The Japanese Journal of Humanistic Psychology published 14 articles (35.9%), followed by the Japanese Journal of Clinical Psychology (28.2%), which published eleven articles, and Person-Centered & Experiential Psychotherapies, which published 5 (12.8%) articles.
